Sports Management/Marketing Certificate

Career Pathways

This introductory certificate focuses on the elements of managing as they relate to sports initiatives. A variety of marketing strategies and techniques will be studied so that students have a better understanding of how to create a complete sports marketing plan. The goal of this course is to enhance the student’s abilities to develop effective marketing tools that promote key aspects of the sporting industry.

Sports Management Learning Outcomes
The student will learn how to:

  • Build relationships and network within the sports industry
  • Plan, coordinate and oversee sporting events
  • Effectively communicate with a variety of sporting entities
  • Successfully develop and implement marketing plans targeting the sporting industry
  • Identify and segment target markets within the sporting industry event planning and management

Students may be enrolled in identified credit programs on a non-credit enrollment basis. Concurrent enrollment students earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) rather than college credit for attending class and are expected to complete all required assignments and testing. Continuing Education seats are limited in concurrent classes.
