Benefits of the STEM Resource Center

Transfer Information

CTE/STEM advisors can assist any Richland student to navigate the transfer process to a senior institution. CTE/STEM advisors offer each student with whom they meet a transfer guide to their senior institution for their particular program of study. STEM students may find Texas institution transfer guides at the following link- Additionally, each spring semester, the Center hosts a Bachelor of Applied Science Fair featuring all schools who offer B.A.A.S. degrees for technology students.

In addition to personalized advising in your specific program of study, students have the opportunity to receive scholarships through the Dallas County Community College District Foundation and the CTE/STEM Institute. STEM students may find a list of all scholarships either through DCCCD or, external to the District, on the STEM Resource Center Facebook or eCampus/Blackboard pages.

Tutoring Services

The STEM Resource Center is the only center on campus that offers tutoring in upper level MATH, Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Physics courses. Tutoring is offered by higher level students proficient in the course subjects. Even if a student does not need tutoring, the STEM Resource Center is a great place on campus for group study. STEM students at Richland College may work or volunteer to tutor other STEM students in college-level MATH, Engineering, Computer Science, and/or Physics courses. In order to qualify, students must pass a criminal background check. Please contact Teresa Lynd at or 972-238-3797 for more information.

The Center promotes all STEM and Technology related internships and career opportunities. Some of these opportunities include job expositions, summer research experiences, and internships across the nation. Additionally, the Center promotes all events and services from the Career Center:
