Registration begins 11/24/15

Cost $40

Come celebrate Spring time and join us as we tour Dallas Fair Park. We learn the surprising and interesting history of these popular acres, host every year to the State Fair of Texas. We learn about the filming of both Movies and TV series on this spot. Hear about the famous and infamous people who have appeared at this location. Big Tex will not be in residence, but we can still hear details about him. We can take a stroll through the park, see the highlights and perhaps visit the Leonhardt Lagoon and the tranquil Texas Vietnam Memorial.

Lunch is on your own, perhaps at the Old Mill Restaurant, an iconic establishment at the park for many decades.

Then we visit the Old Red Courthouse, a restored 1892 treasure. It stands near the Sixth Floor Museum and the John F. Kennedy Memorial. The museum in the Courthouse tells the story of Dallas from our beginnings to today. We will tour the building and see the sweeping changes made to return it to its former glory. Don’t miss Larry Hagman’s Stetson and handcuffs reputedly worn by Lee Harvey Oswald. One of the awesome things on display is a neon lighted 11ft Pegasus in the lobby. This 76 year old symbol of Dallas was created for the 1939 New York World’s Fair and then flew over a Casa Linda gas station in East Dallas for many years.
Senior Admission: $6

You may see additional Pegasus flying horses and some other interesting downtown sites as time permits.

Our bus leaves Parking Lot “D” at 9am and returns to Parking Lot “D” at 5pm. Our bus is a Handicapped Accessible Luxury Coach.
